Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin branches out into beauty

Fans of Louboutin's iconic red soled shoes will soon be able to pair their heels with red lips, as Christian Louboutin Beauté is underway.

Shoe designer Christian Louboutin, who is celebrating 20 years in the business, has today announced that he will be launching a cosmetics range next year. The Frenchman is collaborating with Batallure Beauty to create the luxury make-up range.

"20 years ago I started what I thought would be a small adventure, which ended up becoming a company" said Louboutin, whose work is the subject of a retrospective currently on display at the Design Museum in London.
"The beauty adventure is a natural extension for someone like me, who likes to empower women and to be a part of creating beauty seems like the right next step" he added.
Monsieur Louboutin had been approached by several parties interested in launching lipsticks and the like in the past, making him hot property in the cosmetic stakes.

His collaborators are equally as excited about the venture, as the company's chairman and co-founder Robin Burns said: "Wearing a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes completely transforms a woman and Christian will bring that same transformative quality to women through his beauty products."
Identifying the influences behind his artistry as the worlds of culture, showgirls, exotic travels and nature, the cosmetic market is set to see some electrifying additions in 2013. And of course, that signature scarlet colour will lend itself ever so nicely to a nail polish shade or two.

Waterproof Lip Pencil!

I have found the best lip pencil!!! I already tried lip primers and other lip pencils but they don't seem to make the lipstick last. I was browsing Givenchy's lip pencils and found out that they are waterproof. I tried them and they do last a looooooong time. Givenchy's glosses are very pretty, but they are not the best (they don't last very long on the lips). I prefer Tom Ford, Chantecaille, or NARS glosses.

What is BB Cream?

What is BB Cream?

28 December 2011 by Cosmopolitan

The BB Cream is everywhere right now! But what exactly is it and what beauty miracles does it promise? Read the Cosmo beauty guide to the latest beauty phenomenon....

Clinique BB Cream
BB Creams have been 2011’s biggest beauty trend, thanks to their popularity in Asia, and the trend is set to be huge in 2012. Garnier was the first brand to jump on the bandwagon (you may have seen the TV and street ads recently) and early 2012 will see Clinique and Estee Lauder launch their versions. If you haven't got one in your makeup bag now, you soon will!

So what does BB Cream stand for?
Technically, it stands for Blemish Balm or Blemish Base but that doesn't mean it's a spot cream. It's more of a multi-function cream that has coverage and skincare properties. The Korean girls love it because it promises natural-looking skin coverage.

What will it do?
This wonder cream is meant to be all-singing and all-dancing. It will give you a good base for makeup like a primer, even out complexion like a tinted moisturiser, cover minor imperfections and redness like a concealer, hydrate your skin like your day cream, brighten and perk-up a dull complexion and some will even protect with SPF. Some also promise healing, soothing and anti-ageing properties.

How do I choose one right for me?
Treat it like skincare and find one for your skin type. Do you have dry skin? Oily skin? Problem skin? Do you have ageing concerns? Or do you just want a healthy glow? Check you like the smell (it is often perfumed) and make sure it blends into your skin well. Try before you buy and see how it feels on your skin for the day - in the same way as you would try a foundation on your skin before buying.

How do I use it?
The magic of the BB Cream means you can wear it alone without foundation and you should get a light, natural finish coverage to give you a health glow and cover uneven skin tone. Use it when you don't fancy wearing full foundation or if you want to brighten and perk-up your skin between work and a night out.

This BB Cream phenomenon sounds too good to be true - is there anything it doesn't do?
It won't cover like a foundation so if you suffer from spots you might need to go over problem areas with a concealer. There are also limited shades on offer - generally light, medium or dark. Watch out for pinky undertones too which will not suit darker skins.

Where did the BB Cream come from?
Some say it originated in Germany, others say Korea. BB Creams have been big business in Southeast and East Asia for almost a decade - about time they came here!

What do the experts say?
Lisa Eldridge, No 7 Creative Consultant says: “...not only is it an illuminator, moisturiser and protector with SPF15. It also has corrective and balancing qualities. Your one stop shop to flawless, beautiful skin.”

Which are the best BB creams?
Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector, £7.49, superdrug.com
17 BB Blemish Balm, All in One Magic Makeup, £4.99, boots.com
Clinique Age Defence BB Cream SPF30, (available from 1 January at Harrods and nationwide from March)
MAC Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF35, £21, maccosmetics.co.uk
No 7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream, £15 (available from 15 January)

The Tan Man

Summer is almost here and we need get our tanning sprays and lotions ready!
I was searching for the best products and came across the UK's Tan Man - aka James Read.
In a Vogue interview James shares some tips in tanning:

Hope you guys enjoy it!!!

Tanning expert James Read has worked with everyone from Lady Gaga to Clive Owen, and has bronzed stars for events such as the Oscars, Grammys and Brits. Based at the Sanderson Hotel's Agua Spa, Read has also tanned models for a wide range of fashion week shows. Here he talks about how to create a winter tan as well as what to do when it all goes a bit wrong.
Achieving a realistic tan for the colder months can be tricky, what are your tips?
Apply moisturiser to a tanning mitt, then glide over your skin, making sure to remove any excess afterwards. This is great for the winter months as it stops your skin drying out. Then when you apply the tan, leave it on for six hours rather than the recommend 8-12 hours - this will give a lighter, more seasonal glow. Or, if you just want a pop of colour on the skin, mix a teaspoon of self tan with thick moisturiser. After three days exfoliate your skin, this will help your tan fade evenly.
There are so many self-tanning products around now. What are the ones you can't live without?
There are so many good brands to choose from! For a facial tan it would have to be Chanel Soleil Identite Perfect Colour Face Self-Tanner or Sisley Sun Glow. On the body I'd suggest Clarins Radiance Plus for a light glow, He-Shi Liquid Express for a medium tan, and for a dark Seventies retro tan Xen Tan Absolute Luxe. Go for a good wash-off tan as well, Fake Bake Flawless range is perfect for this.
What is your one top tanning rule?
Always pick the right tan for your skin tone. Do your homework first and patch test the product on your skin. Also after you have applied your self-tan rub a small amount of moisturiser onto a make-up brush, brush into your hairline, over the ears, jaw, wrists and in between fingers and toes. This will make your tan look real and natural.
And if it all goes horribly wrong?
If you tan is too dark mix lime and lemon juice with a face mask, toothpaste and crushed sea salt, then apply to your skin, leave on for 20 minutes, remove with a warm towel, and shower.
You created tans backstage at the likes of PPQ and Jean Pierre Braganza this season. Why do you think that tanning models before a show makes such a difference?
It adds definition to the skin and helps the skin look illuminated on the catwalk. It's all about helping the light reflect off the skin to give a flawless complexion. Self tanning has become a fashion trend in its own right.
Why do you love working in the tanning industry?
I started using beauty products from a young age and just fell into the self tanning industry. I worked for St Tropez for eight years and then decided I wanted to work for myself. Self-tanning has become so advanced now that there is a product choice for everyone, which allows people to achieve different looks each season. Tanning is no longer just for the summer, it's a year-round thing and is now part of people's beauty regime. People tan the right way now, you get the odd looking orange tan but that's very rare these days.
Which celebrities have you most enjoyed worked with?
Lady Gaga, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Clive Owen, Ellie Goulding, Mariah Carey, Lindsay Lohan, I also work with a lot of Hollywood actors and actresses but my lips are sealed to who they are.

Beauty Points: Clinique Tinted Moisturiser

This month I received my Beauty Card Statement from Debenhams and I received £15 to spend it in store! I tell you these beauty cards are great, especially if you buy online and receive 5 points for every £1! With my points I bought a Clinique Tinted Moisturiser because it's great value for money and it stayed great on my skin. I thought the new Nars Tinted Moisturiser stays very oily in my skin and I didn't like it.
